Section 18
In case of merger or consolidation of the protected member organization
: (1) If one or more protected member organizations merge with another protected member organization and change its name, such organization shall submit an application to the fund to maintain the new name.
(2) If the fund examines the application received under sub-section (1), if it is found to be inappropriate, the membership certificate of the protected member organization shall be provided under sub-section (2) of section 15 under the changed name. If the protected member organizations are merged or merged with the name of one protected member, if an application is submitted to the fund to record the name of the protected member organization, the fund shall accordingly record the name of such protected member organization and deduct the expenses of the other protected member organizations that have been merged or integrated.
(3) The protected member organization which has been merged as per sub-section (1) shall pay the protection fee based on the deposit that can be protected after the merger.
(4) If a protected member organization merges with another protected member organization, the newly established protected member organization shall pay and submit the protection fee, fine or any other amount to be paid to the fund by such merged protected member organization.
(5) The deposit fund of each secured member institution which is merged, amalgamated, dissolved or consolidated in accordance with the prevailing laws regarding banks and financial institutions shall be kept separately for three months from the date of written notification.
